Amealco, a reservation of Otomí indigenous culture, and where skilled artisans keep alive the intricate art of creating Lele dolls. (Lele means ‘baby’ in Otomí.)

The creation of Lele dolls is primarily the domain of Otomí women in Amealco. These skilled artisans learn the craft from a young age, with techniques and designs passed down from mother to daughter.

La Casa Queretana de las Artesanías is an organization of the State of Querétaro which aims to spread Queretaro culture and traditions, improve the living conditions of its artisans and foster their creativity.

2 Queretaro artisans from Queretaro will be visiting us at Pearl to make Lele dolls during Dia de los Muertos. There are 60 spots on Saturday and 20 on Sunday during Farmers market. First come first serve.
